How long can people survive?

It has been three days since the 7.0 magnitude earthquake in Haiti. Sources say that people who were killed in the earthquake would have died in the first 72 hours. The people of Haiti are lacking resources that are in need to survive. The question is how long can they physically survive without these sources? People can go longer without food than without water. Water is one of the main resources needed ex specially in a dry and dusty area. Help is on the way starting today. The main goal of the rescue relief is to help the people alive and in need because it is probably too late for those who are buried.

It's terrible that the people of hati are living in desolation and with the flooding from the hurricane they are surounded by undrinkable water and no food. They wont be able to survive for long. If we can drop food supplies to them we they will be able to live for longer and maybe they can get everything cleaned up and back to better times.
